I saw my first live theater performance at age 4 and discovered my particular fascination with how costumes define character not long after that, when I was transfixed by the romantic-yet-tailored quality of "Miss Malloy's" sleeves in the movie Hello Dolly!  I guess that made Irene Sharaff my first Costume Designer crush.

There is nothing else quite like the immediacy, thrill, and challenges of live performance, which has led me to design costumes for over 250 productions of plays, musicals, operas and ballets. 

I love collaborating with imaginative directors and design teams, working with inventive costume makers who bring their own artistry and creativity to the table, and supporting performers in their process. Making theater with a community of artists and sharing it with a live audience makes every production its own unique and rewarding adventure.
